This is mostly a concept for now, and is VERY early in development. The core idea for now is to link a bunch of free online casino games into your site profile, creating a sort of "massively multiplayer online casino" of sorts, where the site acts as the community hub. Either way, you should find some fun casino games to play... this is NOT gambling site! All this stuff is free & doesn't involve real money.

Site Updated -- Over 20,000 Free Games Now Live!!

HUGE Game Update -- (July 9, 2010):
Along with the previous work done with new game info & Play pages, I've been hard at work getting a ton of new games... adding over 14,000 games to the Bragfile.com Network, in fact! 14k!! Wow. I'm still working on some big theme and page layout changes, along with reworking each of the sites in the network to be a little more unique... all in time. It's a lot of work, so bear with me, please!
Remember, we also have a shared sign-on system that allows one account for any of our sites to gain access to all the rest of them! Your free user account will also allow you to save high scores in games that support them, as well as post comments and rate games to help sort through the 20,000+ games we currently have. Thanks for visiting and please come back often...with friends!

Massive, Almost Ridiculous Game Update!

Well, I've finally finished this latest, massive amount of work on the Bragfile.com network's HUGE pile of games!! We're talkin' very huge here: I've just completed the addition of another roughly 15,000 new free online games to the network! HOLY COW!!

Ridiculous, isn't it? There are now over 20,000 free online games here on the www.Bragfile.com Network of sites. (If you don't know yet, that includes sites like www.FlashGamePost.com, www.PointlessGames.com, www.OnlineGameHounds.com, www.CasinoGamePlanet.com and www.Intellicade.com, to name a few!)

Wow.

Some of the other work I've been doing to the site is starting to show up at Online Game Hounds first, since it's a little slower over there. If you'd like to see how the new theme is shaping up, maybe you can drop in there. For now, it has most of the same games listed, but in time, OGH will be the showcase of all the best games our hounds can dig up from this incredible trove of 20k games.

So, our intent is to keep updating the site with the newest games we can find at least every week, but maybe every day too, if we have the time. Thank you for all your support over the years and I hope you didn't mind waiting while I did a lot of the painful work to get all these games to you!

Take care and have fun!! (Please spread the word. :)

Empires of Steel Preview

A quick note to point you towards a game that a friend of mine made. I'm not able to be unbiased about this one, since I've been following the development of this turn-based strategy war game for years. I'm very happy that Empires of Steel has shipped and I wanted to spread the word a bit. Congrats, Brit!

Empires of Steel is a turn-based wargame where you "form alliances, capture and trade resources, research new technologies, and form huge invasion fleets to conquer your opponents." The game can be played in single or multi-player modes with voice chat and can be extended by customizing your own maps, scenarios and rule sets using the extensive editor. It's really a lot of fun and has some great depth. Any strategy wargamer should give it a shot -- there's a demo available, so you have no excuses. There have been a slew of updates to the game through the slick update system, so it's been actively supported since launch.

Here's an Empires of Steel Preview at GameSquad that talked about the game back when its launch was announced.

I don't have much more to say at the moment, but I really wanted to pop down these links. Check it out and support your friendly neighborhood indie game developers like Atomicboy Software!! :)

Test: Now Showing "Global Leaderboards"

I've decided to run a test to see if showing global leaderboards in the games is a little better until we get some more members saving scores. Let's see!

If you have an opinion about this that differs, please let me know. I'm just trying to get things more active in the score boards for now, until I get some time to push the sites and get more traffic.

(You know, I would really appreciate people spreading the word about the our game sites so we can get more support and activity. Thank you very much for sharing with your friends and inviting them to play! We need all the players we can get to make these sites a success.)

New Game Pages Now Live!

Whew! Another round of big changes are finally done! (Actually, they're not really completed, but they're at a "good enough for the moment" stage.)

I've changed the way games are displayed and I really hope you players either like it, or are understanding about why I'm doing it this way! It's not likely to please everyone, but I've done a LOT of thinking about this stuff and I think I've come up with a good balance between functionality, content & commercialism -- yeah, I need to make money off these sites, so I need to put advertisements up. Without the ad revenue, I'm not able to put in this much time to make the site nice for you folks... please bear with me on that front.

So, the main changes you'll notice today is a new "landing page" for each game! Instead of seeing the game loaded up right away, I've gathered various bits of info for each game on that page. The best part of this for now (still needs some tweaking) is the leaderboards visible right away for the games that support them! Yay! For instance, check out my consistent example (gotta get a new example), Castle Clout: Return of the King. You should see the leaderboard widget shown on the right and the game's info block on the left with a "Play Game!" button. That brings me to the next point...

Game Randomizer Now Showing Only Best Games!

This was something I debated on for a while, but finally, I think I'm realizing it's a no-brainer: I've updated the little Random Game Finder (aka: Game Randomizer) to only bring up a batch of games that have been deemed "featured" by sources that are not wholly important... but it's not me! I only say that as a bit of a disclaimer in case some of the games are crap and you hold me accountable for your wasted time! :P

Soon enough, I'll be going through the games better (and adding a massive amount of new games, as though you need more than 6,000+!?) and sifting out my own favorites and recommended games. Until then, you will have much better luck finding great games to play if you mess around with the Randomizer.

Good stuff? I think so.
Enjoy!

New Home Pages Underway

I've been hard at work polishing off a bunch of problems that were lingering for a long time here at the Bragfile.com Network. Lots of little glitches and some features that needed updating/installing before I could move forward with the sites. Well, I'm getting much of that junk behind me and now I'm spiffing up the sites a lot more!

Soon, you'll be seeing some new features on the home pages of each site in the network. Primarily, I'm (finally) getting some time to review a handful of the incredible stash of free online games we have here. This will mean there will be some new sections available to see some of our recommended games that we think you might like. Soon after the recommended games lists are live, we'll be working on the "favorites" list that will show what we think are the best of the best games we have. I'm excited about getting that going, since I've been bookmarking games for a long time that I look forward to pointing out to you!

Finally, the high scores work for games that support it, but we'll be making it much easier to find the games that are leaderboard-enabled. Sorry to have put that gem off for so long -- many people are looking forward to it.

Well, thanks for coming by and I really hope you like where things are heading! Please come back soon and bring friends!

Single Sign-on Working Again

[update 11/21/2009: Wow.. another round of pain and suffering as my old system for doing "single sign-on" has been declared insecure. Yay! I've had to move to yet another system which appears to rock. This hopefully ends this journey. I'll post elsewhere about this problem in case anyone cares. However, please let me know if you still see problems with creating an account on the Bragfile.com network and with moving between sites while staying automatically logged-in. Sorry for any hassle this has caused. --Hoza]

After a long, arduous path, it appears that I've (finally!) gotten the shared sign-on system back online. Sheesh.. what a pain in the rumpus.

This means you should be able to log in with your account at one of our sites and then be able to hop around to any of the others without having to log in again. HUGE feature that was working long ago, but crashed on me and forced me to disable it.

The fact that this feature works is integral to how all these Bragfile Network sites coexist. As you may notice, there are a lot of games listed in various sites, but they're not actually "living" at the site you see them listed at. That may not make sense (I'm tired after an all-nighter, sorry) but trust me, there's a reason I'm doing it this way.

FlashGamePost.com is currently the main hub for all the free online games we have on the network. However, there are also games getting sorted out to the other sites your free Bragfile Network account gives you access to.

More Major Mods Might Make a Mess!

Well, here we go again! Massive, massive changes are happening to all the Bragfile Network sites -- including, for instance: www.FlashGamePost.com, www.PointlessGames.com, www.OnlineGameHounds.com, www.CasinoGamePlanet.com, et. al... "Massive", I say!! I am scrambling to get the core stuff done as quickly as possible, but I'm running out of steam after an all-nighter (which follows many days of very long hours, incidentally).

There is some potential for very strange things to happen, but hopefully nothing will be show-stopping for anyone. However, I'd suggest you just go with the flow for maybe a few days to a week, while I sort out all the various goodies in the front & back of the site. There are some things that are likely to shift, so if you were heading in here for one thing and you are bluntly bumped over to another thing... well, I'm sorry. Hopefully you'll get your bearings and be able to right your boat quickly.

Thanks a bunch for visiting and please keep coming back. There are some very big things happening and you'll hopefully really enjoy what's in store. Even though there's going to be a lot of dust & debris for a bit longer, the end result is something I'm very, very stoked about!

Take care and please spread the word about our sites!

Cheers,
[Paul] Hoza

Site Updates Abound

Sorry for the mess. I've had to update some things in the background that messed up some newer things I had cooking up-front. Bummer. For now, I had to take some stuff down as I don't have time before the weekend to fix it up.

Either way, you'll have access to the spiffy new Random Game Finder at the bottom of every page now. It's really slick: Just control-click on as many game categories as you'd like and either set it to ignore ("is none of") or include ("is one of") those categories in a random game generator that pulls up six games to try!! Quick way to see a random batch of games in a category... or if you want to completely avoid a couple categories and get just the genre you're interested in.

Anyway, this is a glimpse into what I'm hoping will make a big change in the site soon, but it's a lot of work, so I'm not sure when "soon" is! :P

Have fun! (And thanks a bunch for visiting!)

Game Leaderboards Now Working!!(!!!)

Ohhhhh yeah...

This is HUGE news, as far as I'm concerned. I've finally gotten the initial kinks worked out of the Leaderboard system! Seriously cool. As with everything on the site at this time, consider this a "BETA" feature & please let me know if there are problems or if you don't think it's working right.

This means there are now a ton of supported games in the system that will allow you to save high scores! (Dang, I can't stop throwing down !'s all over, which is annoying, but I can't help it!)

!!!

Not every game supports the leaderboards, so I'm working on a visual cue about whether a game tracks scores or not. I also think it would be nice to just have a separate page to load up just the games where scores are tracked, for those of you who really want to focus on getting onto high score boards.

For now, the only place you can see these 'boards is when you're inside the games that support them. I'm working on getting the data pulled out and onto other places on the site, but for now, this is a big deal and wasn't easy... and a LONG time coming!
